If you purchased your travel insurance policy on or after 12th March 2010, there is no cover under any section of the policy for this event.
If you are due to travel between the 19th and 31st March 2010 please contact your travel operator or British Airways direct to check the situation concerning your particular flight.
If your flight is cancelled, and you choose not to accept an alternative flight offered by British Airways, you have a right to a full refund from British Airways.
Any other associated costs that cannot be cancelled without a charge should be referred to BA, your travel agent or tour operator. Your travel insurance policy will not cover these costs.
If you decide to rebook your journey with another airline, any additional costs will not be covered by your insurance policy.
If your flight is not cancelled but is delayed and you checked-in on time, your insurance policy entitles you to claim once you have been delayed for longer than 12 hours from the original specified time of departure.
If the delay was for more than 12 hours and you decide to cancel your travel arrangements, you will be able to submit a claim for cancellation costs. However, you will need to obtain a letter from British Airways to confirm the flight was delayed along with the original and eventual time of departure. We cannot consider your claim until you have this letter.
Please note that you cannot submit a claim for both travel delay and cancellation.
Finally, if you are booked to travel after the 31st March, there is no further information available at this time.
