A prosecution lawyer has warned of the dangers posed by young men driving too fast.
It comes after a woman died when her boyfriend lost control of a car while racing at "grossly excessive and dangerous speeds".
Stacey Cutts, 18, of Harleston, Norfolk, was killed when her boyfriend Tom Wright crashed while driving at high speed on the A140 at Tasburgh, Norfolk, in April 2009.
Andrew Baxter, Chief Crown Prosecutor for Norfolk, said "troubling" statistics showed male drivers between the ages of 17 and 25 were to blame for "many accidents".
Norwich Crown Court heard how 23-year-old Wright, of Wortham, had been 'racing' Jake Riseborough, 19, of Harleston at the time of the crash.
Both men admitted causing death by dangerous driving and each was given a jail term of three-and-a-half years, police said.
The verdict led Andrew Baxter, Chief Crown Prosecutor for Norfolk, to highlight statistics showing that male drivers between the ages of 17 and 25 were to blame for "many accidents".
It is thought that the figures, which showed 35 young male drivers were involved in fatal collisions in Norfolk in the past three years, could lead to even higher car insurance premiums for young drivers.
