Scottish motorists lose their cool more easily, while those in Northern Ireland are less likely to get angry when behind the wheel, a survey from satnav manufacturer Navigon has revealed.
Getting stuck in traffic jams annoyed nearly half of Scottish drivers questioned, and around nine in 10 admitted to swearing at other motorists, the poll noted.
Even a passenger talking to them in the car irritated almost a tenth of Scots.
Half of Northern Irish drivers said that they seldom lost their cool while at the wheel and more than a third admitted they enjoy listening to CDs while driving.
According to the poll, motorists in Yorkshire are most confident, with more than 40% claiming that they would never to get lost on road trips.
As many as 60% of Londoners said they wished to see less traffic on the road.
Navigon's UK manager Peter Blampied said: "Driving any distance, particularly in bad weather, can be challenging.
"We hope this research will make drivers be more aware of other people's attitudes when taking to the road, especially in bad conditions."
