The Duke of York could be left with higher car insurance premiums following an alleged accident, it has emerged.
The Metropolitan Police are investigating claims that Prince Andrew allegedly struck a police officer while driving into Buckingham Palace in his 4x4.
The uniformed officer was moving two Japanese tourists out of the Duke's path when he was allegedly hit. The royal didn't stop or slow down after the accident, The Sun reported.
The newspaper said the officer's arm was injured in the incident and he'd complained to his superiors. A Scotland Yard spokesman confirmed the accident was being investigated.
He said: "A uniformed Metropolitan Police Service officer was involved in a collision with a vehicle whilst on duty on Constitution Hill and sustained minor injuries to his arm. The circumstances of the collision are now being examined."
A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman said: "This is a health and safety matter."
