Sheilas’ Wheels sponsors comedy event on international women’s day
Sheilas’ Wheels – the major new car insurance brand for women – today announces the sponsorship of its first event since launch last October to coincide with International Women’s Day on 8 March 2006: Funny Women Stand Up. Now in its third year, this charitable event has become an official fixture within the ‘comedy’ and ‘National Women’s Week’ calendars.
Featuring a cast of some of Britain’s best female stand-ups, the evening show at Café Royal in London is Funny Women’s key charity fund-raising event and this year is supporting ‘V-Day: Until the Violence Stops’, which campaigns to end violence against women, as well as key charities such as Women’s Aid and Refuge.

The final line-up includes host for the night, Jo Caulfield, with Sandi Toksvig, Janey Godley, Shazia Mirza, Shappi Khorsandi, Mrs Barbara Nice and the winner of the 2005 Funny Women Awards, Debra Jane Appelby. Guest of honour for 2006 is the Rt. Hon. Tessa Jowell, who will be attending in her new capacity as Minister for Women.
