At the garage

Many women find garages intimidating - and rightly so if recent research is anything to go by.

*INTERESTING FACTS: Result from Sheilas’ Wheels research found almost half (47%) of female motorists say visiting a garage is an ordeal they’d rather avoid. In fact, a fifth (19%) of women say they would rather go to the doctors!

Does it have to be like this? We don't believe so! As a specialist car insurance provider for women, Sheilas' Wheels have dealt with this issue by ensuring our garages are female-friendly who can communicate with us women in a straightforward, jargon-free manner - without being patronising. Repairers receive guidelines to be female-friendly and you should find a genuine difference if you opt to have your car repaired through one of our approved garages:

  1. They should make appointments at times that suit you - not just them!
  2. They will be mindful of personal safety concerns and won't deliver or arrange pick up after dark if requested
  3. They'll help with moving child car seats from your car to a courtesy car and back again
  4. They'll accommodate your children in the garage if they are there with you

Never pay for something you don't understand and if the person you are dealing with can't help you to understand what they are talking about - insist they find someone who can. And remember - it's them who should be embarrassed - not you. You're the customer!
