  1. What should I do if I need to claim for my keys?

    Just call the dedicated Key Cover number 0800 032 9077 and Green Flag will arrange the appropriate solution for you.

  2. My car keys have been stolen! What do I do?

    Firstly call the Police to report the incident obtaining a crime reference number. Next, call the dedicated number 0800 032 9077 and Green Flag will come out and secure your vehicle and make the appropriate arrangements.

  3. Is there an excess to pay?

    No, there is no excess to pay for our Key Cover.

  4. Will my cover start immediately?

    No, your cover will start 48 hours after purchase, or on the start date agreed if this is longer than 48 hours after purchase. If you have just renewed your policy cover will be in immediate effect.

  5. Is this a 24 hour service?

    Green Flag representatives are available 24 hours a day. You and your vehicle will be taken to the nearest suitable garage within the Green Flag network, where the necessary work will be carried out. If they are not able to fix your car on the same day then you can receive a hire car or overnight hotel accommodation subject to policy limits.

  7. How many incidents per policy can I claim for?

    There is a limit of 2 incidents in any one period of cover up to a limit of £2,000 per period of cover. Please refer to your Policy Booklet for full terms and conditions and policy limits.

  8. What accommodation can I apply for?

    If necessary, we will pay for overnight accommodation up to £200 (one night only), for bed and breakfast (excluding alcoholic drinks) whilst repairs to your car are completed, provided the incident occurs more than 25 miles from your home address or original intended destination.

  9. Am I covered abroad on my Key Cover?

    No, the policy cover is only valid in the United Kingdom and the Isle of Man.

  10. Are keys for my caravan and trailer covered?

    No, only the insured vehicle car key is covered.

  11. My car is not worth £1500! What happens then?

    We will not pay more than the market value of your car if the cost to replace the keys and locks exceeds this amount.

  12. My family member stole my car keys! Am I covered?

    There is no cover if the keys were taken without your permission by a family member or someone living with you.

  13. What happens if I change my mind about this cover?

    Subject to no incidents arising that may lead to a claim, you have 14 days cooling off period in which to cancel your policy and obtain a full refund, less an administrative fee. Our fees are detailed in the policy Schedule.

  14. Does this cover all of my keys?

    No, this only covers the car key for the vehicle you insure with us. This does not cover house keys or keys for any other vehicle.

    If you want Key Cover protection for any of your other vehicles, they would need to be insured with us, and this cover would then need to be purchased additionally under that policy.
